This event was such a joy to plan. My client knew what she wanted for her husband's 40th birthday party but trusted my vision for the decor. The Herbarium's decor is spectacularly simple and their food is to die for [if you haven't eaten at Bad Hunter yet, go now] so my main goal was to elevate what was already going on in the space; make it clean and simple and keep it masculine.
I decided to base the design off of the bar in the space which has different sizes and textures of pebbles surrounded by a light-stained wood. I used wooden boards as runners on the table to carry the wood throughout; painted terra cotta pots the color of one of the pebbles and added green house plants to carry the green, veg-focused vibe they have going on through to the table; painted chargers with a textured gray spray paint to give the table some texture and fun, and added bud vases with single ranunculus scattered throughout.
